Luca Ballarin
Founder & Director
Luca Ballarin is an industrial expert with over 30 years of international experience in the wood-based panels and furniture industry, specializing in R&D, quality management, manufacturing excellence, digital transformation, and sustainability.
He spent 16 years at Fantoni Group, leading Italian manufacturer of MDF, chipboard, impregnated paper, melamine-faced panels, office furniture where he became Group R&D and Quality Manager.
From 2009 to 2015, he served as Quality and R&D Director at Friul Intagli Industries, one of IKEA's largest suppliers of ready-to-assemble furniture.
In 2015, he founded LEANSOR Srl, an innovative consulting company supporting manufacturing industries in operational excellence, Industry 4.0, digital transformation, automation, sustainability, and innovation. LEANSOR has successfully delivered projects across Europe, China, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, and Italy.
Since 2015, he has served as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission Research Executive Agency and, since 2019, as an Innovation Manager and Senior Consultant at LEF – Lean Experience Factory. He has actively contributed to European and international standardization through CEN, ISO, UNI and EPF technical committees. He was an invited speaker at the 13th European Wood-based Panel Symposium (2024) and the 7th Symposium on Environmental Protection in the Wood-Based Materials Industry (2026).
